How To Survive Christmas With The Family

Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real thing in the world are the things we cant see

Hey Friends

Welcome home to our little bit of beauty heaven.

Today I want to tell you guys my tips of how to survive Christmas with the family. Even if you don't suffer with anxiety like me, if you just have some members of your family that are just really hard to get along with my sympathy go out to you i know very well whats that's like. I was the 'odd' family member for a long time so getting the weird looks at Christmas is something I'm familiar to.

I want to share with you my tips of getting over those hard to get long with family members.

The first thing i have never done but my dad and brother have both done and that's bring a friend or a new partner that forces the more loud and outgoing member to be on their best behaviour and not cause any arguments.

Never commit to any events that you aren't forced to attend. If you don't need to attend something don't feel pressured to attend, especially when you don't want to or your being forced to by guilt.
This is leading into my next point, don't be guilt tripped into anything you are not comfortable with and you do not want to do.

Come prepared to answer stupid/ annoying questions. If you feel like you need to come prepared with answers to the 'so what are you doing after university?' or the 'Found a boyfriend yet? or girlfriend I'm not judging or as iv seen my cousin do and come up with stupid and funny answers.

Give yourself time out, even if you don't smoke i would fake it and go outside to take a breath. I do this a lot at family advents and i actually did this at my own birthday party because i freaked out with everyone giving me and my brother so much attention, its a good job my brother smokes.

This next one will work if you like kids and kids like you. I used to do this a lot more when we had bigger party's over the holidays but over the last few years our parties get smaller and smaller and I'm now I'm one of the youngest so its not so much of a option for me now but playing and looking after the children at the party will get you out of talking to the family members you don't want to talk to, or if you don't want to talk to anyone at all this is still a good option

Someone who inspired me to write this post is Kati Morton who has done a few videos on this topic and shes super interesting to listen to and shes a professional therapist and shes completely worth the watch.
Let me know any tips you have or have developed over the years for dealing with family and let me know your holidays disasters. If you want me to talk about anything leave a comment or tweet me @p_a_pblog and to be the first to see what iv gotten up to follow my Instagram. Secret Santa Under £5

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is sing loud for all to hear

Hello Angels

Welcome to our little piece of Christmas cheer

Today i want to show you the best things to get for a secret Santa weather its for work colleagues or its for a group of friends secret Santa is the best way of getting something special for someone special. Today i want to show you something for every type of girl.

To start off the best thing to get anyone over 18 or 21 in the US is Alcohol. I honestly don't have to pay for alcohol my mum makes homemade wine so there's lots of wine to pass around in my house all.

Something for a girly girl

A girl who loves makeup or perfume the first present is a nail set and its £4 with a nail varnish and a nail file this is by Tanya Burr
This is by Makeup Revolution and this is a grate personal gift especially if you know her birthday this is a grate palette, Makeup Revolution has lot of palettes under £5 and this is a cute little palette for any makeup lover.
This is for all the perfume lover and this is a cute little present, it hangs on the tree and its so cute and its only £5.
and there is some on Boots.com they have quite a lot but i wont link them because this will be a huge list without them.

For the Sporty girls

An Adidas Football which this is only £4.95 and its a Eufa Euro 2016 football
This will depend on the team and/ or the sport but i thought these were cute and if they have their own tree or their family are all sporty i thought these would be cute i saw these in a few different football teams

The next thing no matter the sport everyone needs to stay hydrated so a water bottle is a always a nice thing to get someone, for sports or just for work we all need to stay hydrated

For the fan girl

This is something i would love as a fan of Harry Potter anything like this or anything book related some of the best presents iv ever got is good books that a loved one has really enjoyed and thought of me when finishing reading it.

This is just the same books a book you think they would love and know is good is always a book worms dream
Anything from Etsy is always a good idea they have lodes of grate ideas

For the music lover

For a music lover I'm always struggling for headphones so i like to give my friends lots of sets if headphones i normally get 5 sets from the pound shop and they do some really cute ones so i like to get a few sets of headphones.

I hope you guys got some inspiration for secret Santa and let me know if your doing secret Santa this year. The Christmas Tag

When i look at you i can feel it, when i look at you I'm home.

Hello Friends

Today I'm feeling very festive so i felt like doing The Christmas Tag and letting you get to know me a little bit more.

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
I'm not a huge Christmas movie fan, my mum has them on all day every day from mid November, so i get really fed up with them after a while but i do have 2 which i haven't seen before this year but these are my Favourite Christmas movie.
The first is called Once Upon A Holiday.
This is a movie about a princess that goes to America for a Christmas event and she runs away and finds love and it shows no matter where your from you can find true love.

The second movie is called My One Christmas Wish
This stars Amber Riley (best known from being in Glee) and its about 4 girls who all have troubled pasts and its up to a physiology student to help the girls and herself get one Christmas wish... a family.

Also i want to know your opinions every year on TV in England they play Jurassic Park and Alice In Wonderland, so me and my dad think its Christmas films because that's the only time of year any of them are on so if you live in the UK and think the same let me know!

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
My mum has done 12 days of Christmas for the past couple of years so the 12 days leading up to Christmas getting little presents hinting to our main present (our meaning me and my brother) but before that its always Christmas day, when ever we would beg to open something on Christmas eve it would never work and we couldn't but even now we cant put Christmas presents under our tree till Christmas eve night and most of the time me and my brother would be in bed so we didn't really get bothered by not being able to open any presents till Christmas

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
My favourite memory is actually before my parents split up so at least 9 years ago and actually it was boxing day and just spending time with my entire family we don't do that anymore since my parents split up but i have the best memories there.

4. Favourite festive food?
My favourite Christmas food is ginger bread men, i love ginger. I have ginger bread men all year but for me ginger bread men are scream Christmas and i always remember my gran getting all the kids ginger bread men to decorate as Santa.

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I think my favourite Christmas gift was a doll house i was given when i was like 6 but its now being passed down to my younger cousin who is 6 and she loves it just as much as i did and i kept the doll house till i was about 12 and gave it to her.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
My favourite scent all year round especially Christmas is a actual candle and i actually got given this last year for Christmas. Its Christmas Cookie by Yankee Candle and i love it a lot, it reminds me of  my nan and grandad but i love it.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
We have a few family traditions on Christmas eve and the first is we spend the day baking, my mum has always worked Christmas eve so we used to go to work with her and we would come home and bake now i don't have cheese but we would make cheese biscuits for my brother and grandad and any cakes we would want for Christmas day and we would order pizza and just chill and watch films

8. What tops your tree?
Right now my tree hasn't got anything at the top at the moment but normally we have a angle which is about 20 years old and probably really needs replacing but shes so pretty and i could never get rid of her.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
As a kid i always asked for a horse, when i was young i loved horses and always wanted one but i also remember when i was young i went to a zoo and got to pet a skunk and i remember putting a pet skunk on a Christmas list and i really confused my parents.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
The best thing about Christmas for me is spending time with my family  especially because i don't see my dad a lot and getting my family in one place is hard so when it happens its a nice time. I also just love giving. I look forward to giving everyone presents because each present is carefully thought out and given so when people like them it makes me very happy

Well i hope you guys enjoyed getting to know me a little more. Let me know any traditions you have on christmas and one thing you look forward to during the Christmas period . If you want me to talk about anything leave a comment or tweet me @p_a_pblog and to be the first to see what iv gotten up to follow my Instagram. 1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
Ah, there's SO many, I love National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Elf, The Santa Clause etc. but one that I watch every year, without fail is The Snowman on Christmas eve. I absolutely adored the Snowman and The Snow dog. My dad bought me the little plushie last year, so cute.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Always on Christmas morning (usually whilst scoffing Christmas chocolate) We usually get new Christmas Pyjamas on Christmas Eve, but we save the present opening for Christmas day morning.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
My parents always used to go all out at Christmas. We'd come downstairs to presents, balloons, reindeer prints made out of glitter, red and white tape for the north pole, it was so magical as kids!
4. favourite festive food?
Aside from chocolate...Roast potatoes during Christmas dinner, so many roast potatoes.

5. Favourite Christmas gift ?
I can't remember how old I was, but it was the year of the Furby. I'm sure there were small riots amongst the shelves in Toys R us. My parents pretended they couldn't get me one but then it was hidden behind the sofa! (anyone else hide theirs in the wardrobe at night, they were so creepy!)

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Christmas dinner cooking, mmm or the smell of the Christmas tree!
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Just that it's family time, we'll usually all have wine, the fire on, lots of yummy food and sit down in our new pyjamas to watch Christmas films.

8. What tops your tree?
For years and years it was a little gold vintage angel, my dad always lifted me up to put it on the tree, when I was a kid... at the very end of decorating everything. She was always kind of wonky and worn looking, but it was tradition. These days it's a big gold glittery star.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
Not in an ungrateful way. I mean, I used to circle half of the Argos catalogue! But every year I would ask for a dog, without fail. One year my parents brought it a huge box, with holes in and something was moving. I was certain it was a puppy...it was a rabbit ha ha Still one of the best pets I've ever had though. Then last year, I finally bought myself my own Christmas puppy :) Oscar on the 21sr of December. He was certainly worth the wait.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Spending time with my loves ones, friends and family, after eating Christmas dinner, watching Only fools and Horses episodes that we've seen ten times already. Watching the snow fall and generally having a lovely time.

Pinterest Christmas DIYs

Some people care too much... i think its called love

Hello Friends

Today we are testing pinterest Christmas gift  DIYs as someone on a budget i love getting people gifts so when i find something perfect for someone in a DIY its even better. All these DIYs have been tested and approved by me and i will give it a rating on how hard it is.

The first i want to show you cost me a total of £8 and the most expensive thing was the slippers. This gets one ๐Ÿ˜บin the turns of difficult the more cat faces the harder it is. This is so easy to make, just get little things to place inside the slippers. For my slippers i got a book mark, lip balm, nail varnish and headphones.

The next thing was a sleigh and i made 4 of these chocolate sleigh for under £5 these are perfect table presents or for children. I would give these ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ as it was a little difficult to get everything to stick together.

The next one i have done a couple of times for Christmas and birthdays and a lot of people that i have made this for really liked it, i have made a few different ones so iv made a cookie one and i also did a cake one and its super easy to make so it gets ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บthe only hard thing about it is measuring out the ingredients but other than that its super easy and affordable gift for a dessert lover.

The final one is something i did last year, but i did it in a different style. Either way its a super cool idea and its supposed to be super easy its just really messy to make so it will get ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ cat faces. That is the only bad thing about this gift is the mess that comes along with it.

If you have tried any of these then let me know and if you live by a DIY then let me know any DIY gifts or life hacks you love. If you want me to talk about anything leave a comment or tweet me @p_a_pblog and to be the first to see what iv gotten up to follow my Instagram. Black Friday and Cyber Monday Haul 2016!

Never say goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting- Peter Pan

Hey friends

After the craziness that black Friday brings i wanted to show you what i bought.

Black Friday isn't as big of a deal in the UK as it is in the US, so this isn't a huge haul because a lot of places don't do black Friday discount. Online a lot of places drag out black Friday all weekend.

I also want to say this isn't a huge haul because i live in a really small town and the next town over is a hour walk each way, that is another reason why i didn't buy too much if i went into the city which is a hour drive it might have been a bigger haul. As i said a few posts a go I'm working on something exiting that involves a city so who knows if this project comes through  next year i might have a bigger haul,

I want to start this haul with what i bought online

I bought this first item from Ebay and it was actually a gift for my mum for Christmas. My mum does a lot of driving for her job and she uses her phone as a map and way to get around when driving so i bought this phone holder, it attaches to the front screen of the car so shes not worrying about looking down at the map. I bought this for £2.99
Next thing i bought was on Select and this is when i spent the most money i think all together i spent almost £50 all together throughout he haul. However much i spent i got the most from Select.

The first thing i bought was for my mum for Christmas and this was a online exclusive, its like a cardigan and she has a black and white one already and she wears it all the time so i bought a new one in red. That was £7.99 in the size M/L
The next thing i bought was a practical night wear item and it was a sport bra/ crop top. I think its so cute to wear around the house and to bed i bought it in the size L and it was £3.99
This is the only item i bought that was not in the sale but i did get money off because of student discount but this is a beanie and i love beanies so i wanted to get a fall coloured one as all my hats are black and grey so i went with a red one with a little fur bobble on top. The hat is £3.99 and i got it for £3.20 with student discount
I bought this next item because i wanted one for so long and with it on sale i grabbed one to try out and i cant wait i think this is one of the items i will wear all year long. Its a bodysuite and I'm so excited to wear this. I got this for £2.99
And finally from select i bought a red velvet look skirt and i bought this because i wanted a leather look skirt but after thinking about it i like this skirt so much more. I bought this for £9.99 and i think this will look so nice with the bodysuite.
The next store i bought from is New Look and i had a voucher for my birthday in May and i wanted to spend the rest of the money on the card and the first thing i bought is from the Halloween collection and it was on sale for £5 and i wanted to be a little bit of a grown up and buy myself some PJ's so i bought this night dress
The next thing is another bodysuite i really like this one its a much more everyday bodysuite i have a shirt like this and i wear it so much so i wanted to get another. i got this for £3

And that is it online shopping the next things i bought was in stores. I only got things from 2 stores the first store i bought from was Superdrug

The first thing i got was a Christmas present for myself which i do every year and its always something i can use and for the project I'm planning and its very helpful so i wanted to treat myself with this palette and i bought this for £10
The next thing i have bought was Blush and i actually bought two and each one was £1 so its super affordable and they are from my favourite brand for eyeshadow which is makeup revolution which if you have read my blog of a while you might now this is one of my favourite brand. I don't really wear blush but i bought these to use as eyeshadow. The shade on the left is 'Now!' and the right is 'Love'
The next product is also from makeup revolution and it was FREE?!? when you spend £10 on Makeup Revolution products at superdrug then you get one of three plaettes to collect for free. One is Eyes, one is lips and the final one is cheek.

The final product i bought from makeup revolution is one of their eyeshadow palettes that i have collected and i want to collect them all if i can but i bought this one and its the Ultra Flawless Palette2 and i got this for £8

The final shop i went into was The Range and i bought some beautiful Christmas decorations

The first thing i bought i cant remember the price but its was under £3 but its a glass ballerina its beautiful, I love getting things that make me nostalgic and i was a ballerina for 8 years and this reminded me of the first show i stared in so i had to pick it up.
The second glass item i bought in a pack of 10 and its little glass diamond shapes and they just look so beautiful and once again it was under £3. This is so beautiful hanging on the tree and in the lights and i can also use these on a smaller tree if for any reason i need  a small tree rather than my rather large one.
The final glass figure i bought was a glass bird and this was only £1. They actually had a few different birds which ranged in price and patten.
Next i bought these glitter trees one in blue and one in silver which match my decorations for my room this year but each they was £1.20. I really like how these look on my tree and next to each other i thought getting the different colours would complement each other and my glass decorations

And my final purchase is this decoration and i bought 2 of these for my tree downstairs in my family room and as the tree is always silver i bought these as they are a little bigger and they would look so pretty on a bigger tree, each one is £1.70

I hope you guys enjoyed my Black Friday haul this year i know its not a huge haul but its got a lot of range in what i bought, if you think someone you know needs to read this don't forget to share this post. Also let me know if you are going to go get yourself something you have seen in this post and let me know if you went shopping over the black Friday weekend then let me know what you bought. If you want me to talk about anything leave a comment or tweet me @p_a_pblog and to be the first to see what iv gotten up to follow my Instagram. Also don't forget to follow my blog to be apart of our little community and to get a email every time i upload so you never miss a post.
