I have all the makeup I could possibly need.
said no makeup artist everhello again friends
I'm so excited today to show you what I got the first time iv EVER been to MAC. I'm so excited to show you what I got. If you follow me on Instagram or twitter you would have seen that I went a little big for my first time in MAC
before I talk about what I actually got from MAC I want to talk about my experience in the store. I want to confirm iv never had any products from MAC before and had never walked into the shop so I had no clue what to expect from the shop or the products. I went to the MAC store in Nottingham city centre which is a very small store compared to the ones in bigger cities such as London or Manchester however I was overwhelmed with the amount of chose when I first went into the store after looking around and realising I didn't really know what I wanted I asked a worker for help. I explained what I did for college and that I really enjoy bridal makeup and she was so helpful telling me what the perfect colours was and the perfect blending colours. I was really happy with the service and was actually really surprised, she didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. telling me colours that are similar to the ones I had already picked up and in general was super helpful and everyone in the store was really helpful. I wouldn't go to a store and ask for help normally I would end up buying something I will use twice and that's it but I find that people that work at makeup counters try to cell you the product even if its not right for you and I really dislike that but I cant explain how helpful and honest she was. I completely recommend if you don't really know what you want go ask someone for advice.
for the first time in the store I was really happy with the service and something I didn't know they actually keep a record of what you bought so if you run out of something and you cant remember the name some stores have a record system where if you bought it from that store they can tell you exactly what it was which is super helpful.
so when I went in I had the intention of just getting eyeshadow and that was it getting a singular eyeshadow. I wasn't bothered about creating my own palette but after looking at the palettes they had they wasn't anything I hadn't seen before so I wanted something new and exciting to use but after asking the assistant for help she explained what I should get for the type of makeup I want to do.
I walked out of the shop with a custom palette which is £12 for the palette its self and more for the colours individually
to start a custom palette you need the magnetic palette that will hold your colours and the case to put the magnetic palette and you will have a magnetic palette that holds 15 individual eyeshadows.
the first colour in the palette is Brule which is such a nice pigmented Matte highlight. the second shade is ricepaper which is a semi matte shade, this is perfect for the inner corner of the eye. honestly is the next colour in the palette which is a shimmer light brown colour maybe closer to a dark cream colour this is perfect to sweep across the lid of the eye for a natural simmer to the eye. the next colour is called wedge this is a really nice transition colour with such a nice pigment to it. stable is such a beautiful metallic colour it really has a shimmer that gives it a metallic look. texture is such a beautiful colour perfect for a brown Smokey eye however this would be another transitional colour just because it hasn't got as much pigment as the others. Swiss chocolate once again this is perfect for a more natural look but I love this colour it has a matte finish which I really like. twinks this is the perfect shimmery brown in my opinion id your looking for a dark brown I love this colour I'm sure this will be apart of my daily makeup bag very soon! embark is the darkest colour in the palette with the most pigment I'm super excited to use this more it doesn't look very dark in person but it is and its beautiful to use. all these colours are really nice to use and blend very well. for an individual eyeshadow its £10 which with how beautiful the colours are I will happily pay. however the one thing I will say I really don't like about the magnetic palette is that getting the colours in and out of the
palette can be quite messy.
the last thing I got from MAC was this lip pencil, in burgundy I got this colour because I want to start going a bit more bolder with my lips so applying this all over the lips and putting a red over it makes it darker which I love. I love this colour on its own not wearing any lipstick with it still looks beautiful on the lips.
keep an eye on my Instagram for a picture wearing this so you can see what its like I really love this and have worn it almost everyday since getting it.
well I hope you've liked my first ever MAC haul and hopefully ill be doing another soon as my birthday is coming up. leave a comment of what you recommend from MAC and if there is any books you've read and would like featured in Wattpad reads
much love speak soon
